Sterling Gold, Berlin

Had a great day rummaging through second-hand clothing in Berlin, literally spending hours in Sterling Gold, a vintage paradise in a lovely courtyard in Mitte. Sterling Gold is a princess's wet dream - wall to wall ballgowns, party dresses and evening wear, with pieces stretching as far back to the 40s. The decor is jazzed up to match, with chandeliers, tinkling French music and gold embellished walls. The effect overall is really breathtaking, and induced a lot of 'oh my god' at each turn from me.

They also do alterations, as is usually necessary for dresses that were made so long ago, only stock undamaged, quality items, and clean and press them inhouse. These are old school ladies of fashion running the joint. Dresses ranging from 50 to 300 euros and offering infinite beauty.

Oh my god.

Below: I didn't buy this, but got a slightly less colourful striped wrap dress in silk
