This is a fantastic old-Europe style department store with all the trimmings. It is in the West and apparently used to be the main event shopping-wise before the city was united. Lots of luxury items and gorgeous old-fashioned interiors.
The main reason to go: the food hall. Extravagant! Oysters as big as babies' faces, lobster, fois gras, cavier, pastry, crazy tropical fruits (some I had never seen before and some that I know only from Southeast Asia), a tobacconist stall with a temperature-controlled room for the best cigars, a whole stall devoted to every type of tea imaginable, all available for viewing and smelling. This place was cra-zy.
